Reagan, Pat
Pat Reagan is a woodworker from Chassell, Michigan on the beautiful Keweenaw Peninsula, on the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. He is a skilled craftsman who works with wood and stone. He has an eye for interestingly figured woods that can be found in the forests of northern Michigan. Some have been altered in beautiful ways by processes quite far from beautiful: like rot, and the leavings of bugs that have bored tiny dots through an already distinctively grained wood. Like some rockhounds hunt for precious and rare stones to carve and set... Pat finds treasure in highly figured pieces of wood. When he brings us new work I love to check out what huge slab of wood he has in the bed of his truck to take back to his woodshop. Stone too, he might use for the top of a cabinet or table... and his mirrors are sublime. His furniture is tricky (i.e. expensive) to ship. We did ship a marble-topped cabinet to a customer in California, who thought it was completely reasonable.
