Fred the Squirrel Art Tile 4x4": Oak Hill glaze

Made by Whistling Frog Tile from Alden, Michigan

All of their tiles are handmade in their Michigan studio.

Materials: made in Michigan porcelain and Rick's specially formulated glaze. Using Rick's time tested recipes, they make small batches of glaze. Working small like they do, allows for variations in the glazes, creating one of a kind pieces.

4x4” is a nominal size. The actual measurements are 3.75 x 3.75" with a raised relief of .5".

There is a notch on back for hanging, yet if you wish to install, it's also suitable for that too. If used outdoors in freezing temperatures, just make sure to keep it vertical.

How’s it made? Sculpt the original design, make plaster mold, press in clay, wait to dry, fire in kiln, glaze, fire again to about 2230 degrees. Cool. Ship to your doorstep. Yay!
